All the candidates who are going to apply for NATA 2018, were to be informed that now they can register for NATA 2018 in online mode only very probably from January 2018. It will be possible to register until the first week of January 2018. Applicants must provide personal information and download documents on the form. Now every candidates must be curious about the detailed application procedure for NATA 2018 along with the Exam Pattern, Syllabus as well as the registration process, so you all are directed to read the above passage, hope all your queries will be solved.

NATA 2018 Registration 

In order to give admission to the students for the B.Arch courses in various institutions and universities, NATA 2018 (National Competence in Architecture) will be conducted by the Architectural Council (COA). As you all know very well, that NATA refers to a national competency test that is conducted for admission to the architecture program across the country. In the beginning of 2018, the NATA exam held once a year. Through this examination, candidates will receive admission in 5 years of Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch). A NATA Scorecard will be reviewed by private and governmental institutions.

NATA 2018 Eligibility Criteria :

Age limit:

Lower Age Limit as on 31.07.2018:- 17 years.
Educational Qualification:
  • a) 10 + 2 or equivalent passed / appearing with Mathematics as on the subject of examination;
  • b) 10 + 3 Diploma (any stream) passed / appearing recognized by central / state Govt. with Mathematics as on the subject of the examination;
  • c) International Baccalaureate Diploma passed / appearing after 10 years of Schooling with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.

NATA 2018 exam pattern : 

NATA 2018 exam will be conducted in the 3rd week of April 2018. The exam pattern is given here:

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be held through offline mode (pen paper based).
  • Duration: The duration of the exam will be three hours.
  • Type of Question: The question of Mathematics & General Aptitude will be multiple choice questions.
  • No. of Questions: Total 60 questions will be asked in the examination.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will be of 200 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, two marks will be awarded to the candidates in Mathematics & General Aptitude test.
  • Negative Marking: No marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.
  • Subjects: The question paper will comprise of three sections, i.e. Mathematics, Drawing & General Aptitude.
  • Qualifying Marks: Secure minimum 25% marks in MCQ portion (30 out of 120) & 25% marks in Drawing portion (20 out of 80).

NATA 2018 will be divided into two parts – Part A and Part B:

  • Exam mode is offline;
  • All questions of general aptitude and mathematics will be multiple choice questions only.
  • There will be 60 questions on the exam.
  • The total score on the question paper will be 200.
  • Two qualifications would be given to candidates for each correct answer.
  • There will be no negative mark during the examination.
  • The role of the question will consist of three sections, including mathematics, drawing and general aptitude.
  • To be counted among qualified students, candidates must score a minimum of 25% on the MCQ part and 25% on the drawing part.
  • All the booklets will be served at the beginning in one folder. MCQ answer sheet (OMR) for Part-A will be withdrawn after 90 minutes. It is to be noted carefully that the candidates must fill in as well as the bubble in.
  • ALL the relevant information including the “Question Booklet No” at the indicated places on OMR Answer Sheet, Drawing Sheets and Attendance Sheet during an examination.

NATA 2018Exam Syllabus :

Mathematics Algebra, Logarithms, Matrices, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, 3-Dimensional Co-ordinate geometry, Theory of Calculus, Application of Calculus, Permutation and combination, Statistics  and Probability.
General Aptitude: Interpretation of pictorial compositions, visualizing three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawing. Objects, textures related to architecture & built environment. Analytical reasoning, mental ability (visual, numerical and verbal), general awareness of national/international architects and famous architectural creations. Visualizing different sides of 3D objects. Mathematical  reasoning and sets & relations.
Drawing Test: Understanding scale and proportion of objects, geometric composition, shape, building forms and elements, aesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast. Conceptualization and visualization through structuring objects in memory. Drawing of patterns – both geometrical and abstract. Form transformations in 2D and 3D like union, subtraction, rotation, surfaces and volumes. Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and forms. Generating plan, elevation, and 3D views of objects. Perspective drawing, sketching of urban scape and landscape. Common day-to-day life objects like furniture, equipment etc., from memory.
